This is really a fantastic guide.  I just bought a Masterpiece arms semi auto MAC 11 9mm pistol.  It is a nice MAC and I like the simplicity of stamping sheet metal.  Since my MAC uses Sten mags, I have now taken interest in either buying or building a Sten gun.  I am also going to buy a MAC 10 semi or build one.  I really like these tube and sheetmetal guns.  Man I want a SBR or long barrel Sten real bad now.

Tom

It's a fun gun to shoot, almost no recoil at all - really makes me wish it was legal to build a full auto, or even a SBR in my state.  Mine is in pieces again as I'm swapping out the screws that hold it all together.  I had some soft steel 6x32 machine screws holding the barrel bushings in place for testing, but I can definitely tell something stronger is needed.  So I'm drilling out the holes and have found some grade 8 8x32 screws I'm going to use instead.

Yeah, the Sten guns are really cool regardless if auto or semi, same for the MAC clones.  Your Sten is looking real nice in the photos.  I have access to a metal shop (next door neighbor) and Mig Welder.

Yup, I got it running nicely, but then the spring guide broke and it's been sitting on the workbench ever since.   Embarrassed

I need to get inspired and fix it, then paint the danged thing.

...then paint the danged thing.

That's the easiest thing in the world!  The British just used black house paint.  Grin
