Daley in Chicago expects challenges and Fox in Wisconsin says he's not going to enforce the law.

Sounds a lot like the arguements made in the illegal immigration debate. Roll Eyes

As I said before, the need for the Second Amendment cannot be more clear.  When the First Amendment fails, falling on deaf or ignorant ears, and the force of law is ignored or used against us to usurp the power of the people, the taking up of arms is the only moral force left.

I have come to the conclusion that the final signal will be the adoption of a policy of violence against the people using the military and the increasing militarized domestic police forces.  As Patrick Henry put it, "These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort."  We all see the writing on the wall: the King's last argument is coming.

It is not so different today as then.  They worked within the system for years, only to be placated, lied to or outright ignored.  Today we experience the same things from our governments, as the treatment of this case proves.  It is a great irony then, in my view, that these events happen so closely to our ultimate national holiday, the Fourth of July; that day to which we owe it all.

Peace is not the absence of conflict, it is the presence of justice.

"You cannot be, I know, nor do I wish to see you, an inactive spectator...We have too many high sounding words, and too few actions that correspond with them." -- Abigail Adams to husband John, 1775

"I wander alone, and ponder.  I muse, I mope. I ruminate.  We have not men fit for the times.  We are deficient in genius, education, in travel, fortune--in everything.  I feel unutterable anxiety."-- John Adams, 1774

I only posted it because I thought it was useful to see what kind of argument one may be up against (assuming we're arguing with an educated liberal) someday.

Impossible Sir. If liberals were educated they would not be liberal now would they? Tongue

"Why on Earth do you think Jefferson said that "the Tree of Liberty must be refreshed, from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants; it is its natural manure."  Do you think Jefferson was talking about holding hands and singing songs in the street?  No, he was talking about citizens taking up arms and shooting government employees in the face."
