I found this during a search for something else, but I only found the pic and can't seem to find any more info on it. Best I can gather is it's a more compact case for the .224 bullet, designed to allow increased capacity in an AR mag.

Looks like a .22 Hornet, heh.

Looks like a gimmick too.

Ah, damn, I have it in a .pdf or powerpoint somewhere I think. It was another gov't study on how to increase the amount of ammo that could be carried without increasing the overall loadout weight or decreasing terminal performance. There's supposed to be an advantage to a straight-walled case in terms of burn efficiency. I'll see if I can find the study.

Ahah! Found both what have and a more detailed version. (1) Presentation format; (2) article format.

For some reason the second (article) link keeps bringin up a blank PDF file for me. The first link worked though. Intersting, and thanks for finding that.

Hm, that's annoying. Works fine for me. I think it's more relevant, to be honest, because it contains the actual testing data. Got an email you want me to send it to or can you try from another computer?

There's something wrong with the load script.  Right click the file and hit save as.  Should work then.

Worked, thanks!

That's amazing they're able to push a 62gr FMJBT to 3100fps+ in that little case.

Take a peek at those charts, too. 3600+ fps with 19 grains of their blended propellant. Cool stuff. I'm gonna have to poke around to see what ever came of this... if anything ever did.
