What are you talking about? It just looks like a bunch of empty ammo cans, to me!  Cheesy

I'll trade you a couple cans of holes for a couple cans of ammo.

Thanks.  Now I have to figure out how the hell I'm going to afford a scope for the damn thing, and ammo!  Shit, I probably should have thought about that before I bought the damn thing.

Don't be afraid to try Black Hills "reman" or HSM in it until you work up a load it likes. Looking at the TO webpage, Mike holds the same .25 moa accuracy for his rigs with BH as he does FGMM. And in instances where Mike has built a rig on a less standard cartridge and was forced to use something other than FGMM and BH, he's still guaranteed .25 moa with HSM Match and had good things to say about it.

I would like to get some HSM Match, but everywhere I have checked is sold out of the 168gr BTHP.  I'm going to have to ask Tyler what handloads the rifle was liking the best, I'm sure he knows.

Only problem is that I don't reload yet...shit there goes something else I need to get set up for.

Oh quitcher bitchin'...Once all that liar lawyer money starts rolling in, you'll have half a dozen Dillon 650s set up in some 2,000 square foot man cave.  So I don't wanna hear it.  Tongue Grin

Recoil, I really hope you're right...

Reloading is something that I have been wanting to get into for the past few years (look at my first post on SAS).  I guess precision shooting will give me more of a reason to get into it.

Reloading really isn't that expensive to get into...Not when you figure out what ammo costs you anyway.  An RCBS Rock Chucker kit will pay for itself within a single case of .308 these days, fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it.

But that's where I'd start: an RCBS Rock Chucker kit.  No matter how advanced you get in reloading someday, you'll still come back to your single stage for various tasks.  And if you end up getting super serious about the precision game, you'll confine all of your reloading to a single stage and leave the progressives to the bulk ammo work.  Single stage presses are the lowest common denominator of all reloading.  You can't go wrong with one, and the Rock Chucker is rugged enough, you'll pass it on to your kids and grand kids.

Mel has the AMax loads in 155, 168, and 178 in stock, as well as the 155 Palma. No reason not to see if it likes 'em. And when you start loading for it, depending on your goals, you may look at cloning FGMM, since that's what it shoots so well.

Since I had started reloading with the Hornady AMAX for my .308 ammo, I have not looked back at the Sierra Match King.

Shooting from your bobbed 700P, I assume?  What kind of groups are you getting with your load?

What is your load these days?

If it's the same load he posted in the load thread, I remember him saying he shot a .24" group, and was routinely shooting well under .5" with the shortened-but-otherwise-stock 700P.

The rifle was liking Gold Medal Match the best, and also was liking Blackhills. My reloads, I cannot remember the exact powder charge I was using as the notes went AWOL on me. But, I was using 308 Lapua brass behind a 168 grain pill from Sierra. The primers were federal match and I uniformed the primer pockets and the flash holes. Weighed out all the brass with a .05 difference. I was getting some pretty smoking groups. I lso used a Redding full length size die but had every intention of going to a neck size only. For a bolt rifle you can get away with that, not so much in a semi automatic. And once the brass is sized to the chamber for a bolt action neck sizing is going to be all you need.

I will also say this. Set up your dies to the chambers headspace. Hornady makes some good headspace gauges that will allow you to get the proper bushing to drop into a Redding S die. This is how I did it and I got pretty good results. I never did get to fine tune the loads but I know that Varget was the shit in the TacOps. But, this is pretty much the case in everything but my 30-06.
